ABOUT: Ross Daniels

Ross started his love affair with wood while in high school. After college Ross taught woodworking to hundreds of young people in the 30 years in the Brodhead, WI public schools.

Ross loves to expose the hidden treasures inside a log. Trees are his passion, and he has planted scores of them, and has harvested many. His favorite thing to do in the whole world is to turn a bowl to see the beauty that God has placed inside. He uses Danish oil, and water based finishes so the finished bowl is durable, and can be used for generations to come.

Ross has also created a line of wooden buttons that would be a focal point for any garment or wall hanging they could adorn! The sizes range from 3/4 inch to 4 inches for a brooch. These are turned from Wisconsin wood as well as some exotic woods. These are limited edition buttons since only 12 are made at one time of one style. Often the same type of wood looks different from different parts of the tree.

Ross has a line of rolling pins that are unique and one-of-a- kind for someone who wants the speciality item that no one else in the world has. They are functional, but beautiful.

Usually Ross makes nested bowls so that there is a matching set of various sizes. These come from the same log. These are wonderful wooden bowls from various Wisconsin woods that showcase the interesting grain patterns. Ross also makes a line of natural bark edged bowls from cherry burls that are one-of-a-kind, in sets of three. Individual bowls are also sold in a variety of sizes with the rough bark edge of the burl.
